Memories of Brockley Max

Memories of Brockley Max

2021 is a special year for Brockley Max – this year sees our 20th festival. Despite challenging circumstances, we are going to deliver a special edition this year by getting creative to revitalise and celebrate all the local arts scene has to offer. This year’s festival will embrace digital more than ever before; we will be developing a series of innovative events from curated self-guided audio-visual tours to virtual exhibitions, combining these with Covid-safe physical get-togethers as much as we are able to.One of the festival highlights will be ‘Memories of Brockley Max’ a curated, self-guided audio-visual tour of festival locations in Brockley, Crofton Park and Ladywell via a phone app will let participants discover music, interviews and images of past events and venues in a Covid-safe way. A downloadable guide will be available as well as a physical exhibition where people can add their memories of the festival.

Who remembers the Brockley Max radio station at the Toad’s Mouth Too, or when Known painted the murals on Coulgate Street? Or what about the fantastic music events at Moonbow Jakes or the comedy nights at the Brockley Jack Theatre?

However, we can’t do this alone. We need your support to help us hit our fundraising target. If everyone in Brockley donated just 59p we would smash our goal – for the cost of a pint of milk you will have helped create Memories of Brockley Max to celebrate 20 years of art in our community. So what are you waiting for? To learn more and donate, visit !

Rock bands to sea shanties, urban art, sculpture and glass engraving, and great food are just a few of the delights that bring our very diverse community together each year.
