Foxborough Gardens is home to two outstanding murals created in the 1950’s by William Mitchell, a leading British artist who, at one time, worked from a studio in Forest Hill. The estate was built by the London County Council at a time when local authorities played a key role in building housing of the highest quality and commissioning artists to provide art to decorate it. The exhibition will show photos of the Foxborough Gardens Murals, together with other work by William Mitchell in London, the UK and abroad. The exhibition forms part of the Tenants and Residents Associations campaign for the murals conservation. foxboroughtra@gmail.com
