Giving the Gift of Offence
Martin Rowson, Guardian cartoonist and local, is raising funds for Brockley Max with a talk at the Brookmill pub.
Join long-time Lewisham resident and Brockley Max regular Martin Rowson as he takes us on a rambunctious, rollicking and incredibly rude ride through his 40 year career doing his mean-minded satirical best to hold the great and good (and not so good) to account. During an action packed – and possibly very messy – event he will be depicting with commentary the nine prime ministers he’s drawn “in anger” (ie: been paid for it) – using ketchup, mustard, mayo, peanut butter , toilet duck, KY jelly, glitter and various other household condiments. Probably not suitable for small children. Will contain very strong language and disturbing images. Martin has kindly offered to do this fundraiser for Brockley Max. Thursday 29th February, 7.30pm upstairs at The Brookmill pub in St Johns SE8. Tickets £10 + booking fee. |
