
How to put on an Event at Brockley Max in 2025
Applications to put an event on are now open!
Brockley Max 2025 is happening from the 30th of May to the 7th of June. Our festival takes place in Brockley, Ladywell, Honor Oak and Crofton Park and is open to anyone to apply to hold an event during the festival. You'll be included in 10,000 programmes and on our website, so if you want to hold a live music event, art exhibition, a play, comedy, dance, workshop, children's event, film night, or anything else which is creative, we'd love for it to be part of the festival programme. Full details of how to apply are below,
If you are a band or musician we would love you to play in your front garden or on the street over the weekend of the 31st May or 1st June.
If you are a refugee or migrant artist, musician or storyteller we want to hear from you, so please sign up for our mailing list and contact events@brockleymax.co.uk.

We aim to bring you the full range of music, theatre, poetry and comedy events as well as inviting you and your families to get involved in creative challenges and show them off to the wider community.
For indoor events, you will need to contact the venue and see if they are willing to agree to or help organise an event. You can find a venue from our Venue Directory here.
If you are thinking of holding an online event, you will need to consider how you are going to do this - which platform will you use, whether people need to log on etc.
If you have an idea for an outdoor event, its worth considering your front garden, or the green space in front of our churches, pub gardens or even our community gardens. Don't forget to contact the landowner for permission. We have the outdoor music trail during the first weekend of the festival.
You need to confirm your event and submit your event form by 26th March.
How to put on an event:

Choose a venue from the Venue Directory (this is not exhaustive)

Contact the venue and agree on a time and date or talk to June at events@brockleymax.co.uk

For the application form you'll need: A description of your event including whether it’s suitable for children, the time, date and cost of attending, have an image ready. (If you are intending to charge, you must speak to us first (events@brockleymax.co.uk).

Then complete the Event Registration Form below.

If you have an image, you can upload it on to the form. You must label it with the name of your event and the date of your event as described in the application form.

Venues such as pubs and bars, pay a fee to support festival costs, so please discuss this with the venue owner in advance of completing the form.

Taking part in our Opening Night & Max In The Park stages
Registration will be open soon for the Opening Night on the 30th of May by Brockley Station and Max In The Park on 8th June on Hilly Fields,
If you are a musician, band, choir and dance group and you’d like to be on the bill, please complete this form with links to your live performances. Unfortunately, we cannot consider you without a link to a live performance.
We showcase a mix of up and coming and experienced performers from Lewisham and aim to be representative of our diverse community, so are particularly keen to showcase female and global majority performers as well as refugees and people seeking sanctuary.
Max In The Park 7th June - midday to 6pm Hilly Fields
The amazing family day where over 1000 members of our community enjoy an afternoon of music, children's arts, storytelling, food and bars, and a artists and makers craft fair.
We are currently crowdfunding for this year's Art In The Park to take place so please help us make this amazing event happen and check back here or on our socials for an update. Or sign up to our newsletter above.

Are you an art workshop leader or storyteller and would like to apply to run a workshop between midday and 6pm (children will be accompanied by their responsible adult) up to the age of 13 years. The workshops are drop-in during this time in the marquee. Please contact elisabetta@brockleymax.co.uk more information and an application form. Deadline for proposals is the 30th of April.

Promotion
Assuming your event is accepted, we’ll include it in our downloadable pdf festival programme and on the listings page of our website. If you’ve got a photo of your event/band/artwork etc please attach it to your events form (labelled with event title & date of your event) so we can publicise your event. We’re on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and also send our regular email newsletters about Brockley Max events – so it’s well worth connecting with us on social media and tweeting about Brockley Max and your involvement in it.

Deadline
Some venues are likely to be putting on events of their own during Brockley Max, so it’s important that you get in touch with them as soon as possible to find out whether you can play or perform there. We’d like your event as soon as possible but the final deadline is the 26th of March.
