Cartoons, kids’ ceilidh and festive frolics: Brockley Max’s autumn events schedule
Brockley Max is delighted that renowned satirist and cartoonist Martin Rowson is once again hosting an evening of satirical scrawlings and historical horrors on our behalf. Reform School will take place on Tuesday 24 November upstairs at The Brookmill pub and will track the rise – and hopefully the downfall – of Nigel Farage through cartoons, along with brief explorations of Brexit and its legacy.
Martin’s Brockley Max fundraiser promises to explore “the foul allure of Fascist Noncery and How To Get Ahead As A Nazi In National Newspapers And Still Get On TV”. The show will be fully illustrated throughout with “the usual array of mofels, puppets, jokes, rants and action painting involving food.” Reform School will contain swearing and foul imagery, so is probably not suitable for under 16s, the faint hearted or the far rightTickets are just £13.50 each [plus a tiny booking fee]: https://store.brockleymax.co.uk/product/reform-school-with-the-guardians-martin-rowson/

We are also looking forward to giving St Hilda’s Church Hall a spooky makeover ahead of our Halloween Kids’ Ceilidh on Saturday 31 October. The family-friendly event invites children and accompanied adults to strut their stuff under the expert guidance of Box Of Delights live ceilidh band. Family tickets are just £20 with dressing up in ghoulish garb actively encouraged. The event finishes just in time for sundown and the all-important opportunity to go trick or treating: https://store.brockleymax.co.uk/product/halloween-kids-ceilidh/
