Brockley Max events
We’re now in countdown mode for the Brockley Max festival 2014, and are really excited by the line-up. We’ve secured some brilliant local performers for the Opening Night on Friday 30 May and are looking forward to a great street party breaking out down by the murals close to Brockley station.
We’re also incredibly excited to have both Felix’s School of Rock and the disco queens from I Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet putting on events and strutting their stuff at Art In The Park and the Brockley Max Closing Night on 7 June.
Little’s Nan’s bar from Deptford are kicking off their pop-up cocktail bar residency at The Talbot at the start of Brockley Max, while film-making and playwriting are being showcased at the Misty Moon Gallery and Jam Circus. Check out their respective listings for details of how to submit a film or play for performance during the festival.
We’ve got talks by internationally renowned cartoonist Martin Rowson and by the Build The Lenox campaigners, who want to help ensure the internationally important Deptford Dockyard is preserved and one of its most iconic ships rebuilt. And we’ve got a visit from Doctor Who babe Sophie Aldred and a chance to get up close to a real-life Dalek at our very own Doctor Who exhibition.
Throughout the festival there are gigs, recitals, workshops and excuses to socialise galore. Check out the full Event List here, or pick up a programme in almost any shop in Brockley, Crofton Park, Ladywell or Honor Oak.
