What is Brockley Max?
Brockley Max is a nine-day community arts festival celebrating local talent. It takes place in lots of different venues across Brockley, Ladywell, Crofton Park and Honor Oak and is a non-profit festival that everyone can attend and be part of.
Brockley Max is held the first week in June each year. The Opening Night will take place on the first Friday of the festival from 4pm to 10.30pm by Brockley station and features live bands, singers and dance performances. This vibrant, open-air concert, with an audience of over 600, always gets the party started!
The final day of the festival is our Art In The Park family day, based in Hilly Fields, in the middle of Brockley. From midday until 6pm the area close to the Hilly Fields stone circle is given over to children’s creative workshops and a live stage with dance and musical performances. You’ll also find a craft market, food stalls and bars.
In between there over 70 events each year, all organised by the community so if there’s something you’d like to see, why not put yourself forward to host it? We’re particularly keen on events that are free to attend and ones that the whole family can take part in.
Music nights, poetry readings, art installations and collaborative projects, dance workshops, film nights, talks, street theatre, interactive games and craft events have all featured in previous Brockley Max festivals.

Once you’ve submitted your event to us, we’ll add it to the festival programme, include it on the Brockley Max website and tell everyone about it on Social Media too.
