Welcome to ‘LiftHERUp: we salute Lewisham’s black female trailblazers’, events! We’re continuing to celebrate the women of 2023’s Black Women Icons of Lewisham project, where we honoured, Kristina & Sade Alleyne, Mavis Best and Rosamund Adoo-Kissi-Debrah. Just as important, we want to identify how we can build on this landmark to recognise the many other women who’re contributing great things for our communities and in doing so, we want to invite your and other organisations to join a discussion about how a commemoration of Black women can continue in Lewisham. There’ll be a film screening and a vibrant panel discussion at the Brookmill Pub, SE8 4EJ Guest panellists to be advised. Organised by Women of The Lens CIC. More details here:
