Events day by day
As well as a range of pre-recorded musical performances you can explore, there’s plenty of live events taking place during the Brockley Max Festival period.
Daily at 8pm: Luke Wright – live on Twitter
Celebrated poet Luke Wright co-headlined a fantastic sold out fundraiser for Brockley Max alongside satirical cartoonist back in February. Ever since the beginning of the lockdown he’s been reading his own work (and, occasionally, other peoples’) on Twitter every night at 8pm. Luke’s work is very contemporary, and somewhat sweary, but mighty funny too.
“His performances rumble with rage, passion and humour.” The Guardian

The DreZone – Live At Brockley Max
The DreZone – Singer, Songwriter, DJ and Multi-Instrumentalist, premieres a 45-minute concert that originally took place on Saturday 5th June 2010 on top of Hilly Fields during Art In The Park. This performance includes early versions of songs which would make it to a later released solo album “Soliloquy 7”. Under the moniker “MC Dre”, The DreZone was also a long-time host/compere for the opening nights of the Brockley MAX festival. With the intention to return to Hilly Fields a decade after this performance, recent global events had put the idea to a halt… Therefore, for the first time ever on Brockley MAX online: streamed via YouTube on Friday 29th May at 9pm BST.
