How to put on an Event at Brockley Max during our 21st Birthday!

Event applications have now closed/

Brockley Max 2022 is happening from 27th May until 4th June. Our festival takes place in Brockley, Ladywell, Honor Oak and Crofton Park and is open to anyone to apply to hold an event during the festival. You'll be included in 10,000 programmes and on our website, so if you want to hold a live music evet, art exhibition, a play, comedy, dance, workshop,  children's event, film night, or anything else which is creative, we'd love for it to be part of the festival programme. Full details of how to apply are below, and because this year is the Lewisham Borough of Culture, we are organising some special events/themes under which you may want to be part of:

If you are a band or musician we would love you to play in your front garden or on the street over the weekend of 28th and 29 May.

If you are an artist, we want you to work with your neighbours in your street to create art in windows on the theme of neighbours.

If you are a refugee or migrant artist, musician or storyteller we want to hear from you, so please sign up for our mailing list and contact events@brockleymax.co.uk.

If you took part in the early years of the festival we want to hear from you, as we're planning a 21st Birthday Bash.

Check out the information below will give you some idea of the process to put on events or contact our event co-ordinator June, on events@brockleymax.co.uk

We're hoping that this year's festival will be back to normal with indoor as well as outdoor events, so we aim to bring you the full range of music, theatre, poetry and comedy events as well as inviting you and your families to get involved in creative challenges and show them off to the wider community.

If you are thinking of holding an online event, you will need to consider how you are going to do this - which platform will you use, whether people need to log on etc.

If you have an idea for an outdoor event, its worth considering your front garden, or the green space in front of our churches, pub gardens or even our community gardens. Don't forget to contact the landowner for permission.

For indoor events, you will need to contact the venue and see if they are willing to agree to or help organise an event, which may have to be  adapted depending on Covid restrictions. We will need to confirm events by the 4th of April at the latest, so we may not know what's allowed in June by that date, but we're expecting things to be back to normal!

There’s a Venue Directory Here on our website.

Events applications have now closed.

Event registration will open at the beginning of February 2022

How to put on an event:

Our Neighbours Art Trail

After the huge success of our art trail last year, Brockley Max wants to bring art to our streets again this summer with a festival Art Trail that you can enjoy at your own pace. So we are looking for artists, sculptors, craftspeople, and photographers to connect with their neighbours and work with them to produce art to show in your street's windows. The subject is Neighbours and what neighbourliness means to you.
