In this talk, Carol Harris of Crofton Park History will look at politics and politicians in Crofton Park over the last 150 years. There are local perspectives on international and national events, including the birth of the Labour Party and the reform of the Conservative party. Some representatives were conspicuous, others conspicuous by their absence. We will look at scandals and celebrations, heroes and villains — and see how, across the centuries, our lovely leafy suburb has reflected the times and tides of a wider history.
