Nine-day community arts festival in Lewisham
WANT TO LEARN ABOUT RADIO PRESENTING? Each year f WANT TO LEARN ABOUT RADIO PRESENTING? Each year for Brockley Max we are invited by @1har radio to do a takeover of the station to share about events and what’s going on in Brockley. This year we are pairing up again and thanks to Lewisham Shopping Centre we are able to offer a mentoring scheme to gain skills, experience and knowledge about radio, DJing, and audio production. 📅 29th,30th & 31st May 1-5pm Opportunities Assisting with research, planning and production of a two hour radio slot. Contribute to programme ideas, record interviews and other materials, edit audio using suitable software and even present short items for broadcast DJing Deal promptly with correspondence and queries Keep up-to-date contact lists, produce transcripts, running orders and programme logs Assisting with time-keeping and programme transmissions Look after guests and programme contributors Answer or log call from phone-ins or competitions Liaising with Social Media team to coordinate call outs in FB/ Twitter etc Full details and application form on our website https://brockleymax.co.uk/2026/04/radio-mentorship-scheme-at-brockley-max/ #beockley #radio #volunteer #se4 #lewisham

This year, we’re commi CALL OUT FOR MURAL ARTISTS 
This year, we’re commissioning three exceptional mural artists to create new public artworks across Lewisham, Brockley and Ladywell, helping to shape a lasting mural trail in the area.

1. Lewisham Town Centre – Molesworth Street
A large, high-visibility mural on Molesworth Street, celebrating Lewisham’s food and music culture. Commissioned in partnership with Lewisham Shopping Centre.
 
2. Hilly Fields, Brockley – Pistachios Café
A subtle exterior mural at Pistachios Café in Hilly Fields, inspired by the theme of “Open Air Sitting Rooms” and the park’s 130-year history founded by Octavia Hill. 

3. Ladywell – Playtower Gates
A mural for the gates of the historic Ladywell Playtower, celebrating its importance to the local community and future revival.
