Radio Mentorship Scheme at Brockley Max

Brockley Max has an exciting opportunity for 6 participants to take part in a mentorship scheme, gain skills, experience and knowledge about radio, DJing, and audio production. You’ll be mentored and supported by Gerome and Krystal at 1Harmony Radio who are producers and presenters, helping to create live and recorded radio programmes out of a pop up radio station installed in Lewisham Shopping Centre. You’ll be supported to create a radio schedule based on interviews with volunteers, performing acts, poetry readings or whatever you choose to do. A fabulous opportunity for a creative individual!
Hours: Participants will attend 3 mentor sessions of 2 hours and should be available during on at least one of 29th, 30th or 31st May 1-5pm for the broadcast. You will also need to allow time for preparation of programme.
Venue/location: Radio mentoring and broadcast will be based at the Lewisham Shopping Centre
Activities:
- Assisting with research, planning and production of a two hour radio slot to be broadcast during the opening weekend of Brockley Max
- Contribute to programme ideas, record interviews and other materials, edit audio using suitable software and even present short items for broadcast
- DJing
- Deal promptly with correspondence and queries
- Keep up-to-date contact lists, produce transcripts, running orders and programme logs
- Assisting with time-keeping and programme transmissions
- Look after guests and programme contributors
- Answer or log call from phone-ins or competitions
- Liaising with Social Media team to coordinate call outs in FB/ Twitter etc
