Less than a week to go!
It’s all kicking off in a few days and here’s just some amazing events which are raising funds to support Brockley Max. With funding cuts already happening, proceeds from these events will go towards the festival so please come along and help keep the festival going!
Poems For Lucreta – Remembering Lucreta La Pierre: Windrush woman, Brockley Max volunteer, Park runner and performance poet. An informal couple of hours for laughter, chat, good memories and poems. (Sun 2 June)
Goldsmiths Showoff – Chaotic cabaret featuring a line-up of Goldsmiths academics who will delve into the weird and wonderful world of their research. Hosted by comedian and compere Steve Cross, Goldsmiths researchers take you on a high-speed dash through their chosen subjects. (Wed 5 June)
Nordic Walking The Musical – Nico Springman, accompanied by Bert Page on keyboard, will present selected music and songs illustrating a fictional tale of how proponents of Nordic Walking brought it from Finland to London parks such as Hilly Fields and Ladywell Fields. (Thurs 6 June)
La La Piano Bar – where a New York piano bar meets a Berlin cabaret club with singalongs and West End performers including David Roper from 4 Poofs and a Piano. Ticket prices have been reduced. (Fri 7 June)
Flights of Fancy – an exhibition of screenprints, etchings and other printing techniques by Quaggy Printmakers, on display and for sale in the Chapel (10% of sales go to Brockley Max) . (Both weekends)
