We are delighted to confirm that @declan.mcgill.7 We are delighted to confirm that @declan.mcgill.7 will be hosting Brockleywood Nights once more this year as a celebration of local filmmaking talent and in association with Brockley Max.   Submissions are open and all genres are welcome, under 15 mins preferred (though occasionally longer films are included), and while the focus is on showcasing local filmmakers (or films linked to the local area) Declan is also happy to consider films from Lewisham, South London and beyond.   It will be part of Brockley Max (29 May to 6 June 2026) exact date tbc. To mark our 25th anniversary, we are hosting a special photography exhibition on Hilly Fields, and we want your memories to be the stars of the show. Call for Refugee Artists & Storytellers: The Open- Call for Refugee Artists & Storytellers: The Open-Air Sitting Room Location: Hilly Fields, SE4 (Brockley Max Festival: Max In The Park) Date: Saturday, 6th June 2026 Time: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM Brockley Max invites artists and performers from sanctuary-seeking backgrounds to lead a vibrant “arts occupation” of Hilly Fields. 130 years ago, social reformer Octavia Hill fought to save Hilly Fields from development, famously describing urban green spaces as the “open-air sitting rooms of the poor.” She believed that “breathing space” was a fundamental human right. Hilly Fields is in Lewisham—the first Borough of Sanctuary—and who continues this legacy by providing a different kind of breathing space for those fleeing conflict and persecution.
