It is time for the fantastic Art in the Park today!
Join us at the fantastic family event Art in the Park at Hilly Fields.
Art In The Park
Hilly Fields (near the stone circle)
11am to 6pm
Things you must see:
Children’s Magical Marquee
£5 for all workshops, per child.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Wonderful creative workshops for children under 14. Kids can take part in and learn about:
- Balloon Modelling
- Floral garland making
- Design a tote
- Sail away boating workshop
- Paper lantern making
- Puppet making
Storytelling Tent
Our wonderful storytellers will be on hand to weave their magic and tell stories to keep the children entertained.
Detective Drigglestopper & the Missing Balloons
2pm – 2.45pm
4-8 year olds
Become a detective and solve the mystery of the missing balloon! The Bedlam bunch will give the necessary detective training, flying carpets, riddles, clues, races and more besides.
Felix School of Rock Stage
Local musical talent will be entertaining festival goers this afternoon.

Brockley’s Rock Fishing Pond
This is a favourite for our youngest festival goers, with this event put on by one of our wonderful sponsors, Brockley’s Rock.
Brockley Max Art Market
Local artists and crafts people will have stalls at the event, so make time to have a look at the amazing items they have for sale.
Brockley Max Raffle
You got to be in it to win it! You won’t want to miss out on the chance to win the wonderful prizes so generously donated by local business owners. We have got nights out, pampering sessions and entertainment to name but a few. Make sure you pick up some tickets while you are here.
Food & Drinks
Don’t forget that there will be lots of choices of delicious food and drinks. Brockley Brewery and parlez will provide refreshments. That is lunch taken care of.

Drawn to print
Ladywell & Brockley Cemeteries
10am – 3pm
This is an exhibition of the work of the Quaggy printmakers. You can view their etchings, screenprints, collagraphs and other techniques.
Not only can you enjoy their work, you can make your own! Watch the demonstrations, draw and create your own prints. You might even like to buy an original piece of work too.
Better than it looks: History of Crofton Park
St Hilda’s Church
2pm – 3pm
Crofton Park History Group explores our locale from the earliest times to the creation of Crofton Park itself. Find out about famous residents including Spike Milligan, riots and reprobates, schools and scandals. Come and hear how, in just 30 years, the Kentish hamlet of Brockley became today’s London suburb.

Comedy into Brockley

Don’t miss this special ‘Brockley Max 2018’ edition of the monthly alternative comedy night.
Tonight you can see comedians present new material as well as works in progress.
Host Jez Brown is joined by former Seinfeld writer Al Lubel, and others.
Danny & The Moonlighters

Rock band Danny & the Moonlighters round of this year’s festival with a truly fun night. Expect tunes from 50s high school prom rock, surfer vibes, speak easy swing, and a healthy dose of spook!
Mack/DJ Eltham John
Fox & Firkin SE13
9.30pm – 2am
Free before 9pm; £3 after 9pm.
South Londoners Mack play sweat-soaked, southern- fried soul rock. With multiple vocalists, a harmonica and slide guitar, their energetic live shows get the whole crowd up on their feet.
Stay to enjoy local DJ Eltham John plays tunes ranging from gypsy, dub, ska, reggae, bass, punk to hip hop and disco.
