Beginners ‘Fun’ Improvisation Dance Workshop

10.45 to 11.30am
Contemporary dancing with movements inspired from the texture of hair, ranging from spikey to straight to afro! Participants can bring accessories for the dancing. Age group 16+.

Hilal Dance Taster Session

Midday to 3pm
A fun, creative and holistic introduction to Hilal dance which brings together the perfect mix of African and Egyptian Dance. If you love dance and want a gentle introduction to something new, you will enjoy this taster session. Men and women welcome.

Guided walk of Ladywell and Brockley cemeteries

2pm – 4pm
Find out about the people memorialised in the cemeteries, including poets, musicians, war heroes, educationalists, and sportspeople on this approximately two-hour walk. We’ll also learn a bit about the flora, fauna and wildlife. Led by members of the Friends of Brockley & Ladywell Cemeteries.

Brockley Guitar Circle/The Untied Knot/Foura

3pm – 4.30pm
A group of seven guitar players who play improvised guitar around loose themes. Two of the group also have side music projects under the names The Untied Knot and Foura.

The Frontline private view

The Frontline presents work by local artists, featuring some famous names and new work. This is a chance to meet the artists and view a diverse exhibition.

Brockleywood Nights 2012

Cardboard City

Richard Rozze’s Blues

Richard is a former graduate of London’s Guildhall School of Music. Has performed with musicians such as Richard Bailey (drums), Frank Vignola (guitar), Dana Gillespie (vocals), Dick Pearce (trumpet), in venues such as the ‘Vortex’ and the ‘606’ jazz clubs in London and 2010 and 2011 Cork Jazz Festivals. The band play the jazzier side of the blues, taking influences from George Benson, BB King, Duke Ellington and Ray Charles.
