Art In The Park

2017’s Art In The Park  on Hilly Fields is on 10 June 12pm – 6pm– a family friendly, fun day with a live stage, art workshops, food stalls, a bar, and a craft market. Check back in May for details.

Activities and Line up

Children’s Magical Marquee

£5 per child

This fantastic day kicks off at midday with a range of creative workshops for children up to 14 years. Workshops include felt-making, balloon modelling, puppets and recycled sculpture and much more. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Storytelling Tent

Free

We will have a host of local storytellers telling tales in English and French for all the family. Children from the age of 5 years can also participate in mini drama workshops and perform for their families at the end.

 

Felix School Of Rock Stage

Local musical talent of all ages takes to the stage and will entertain you all through the afternoon. We have an incredible line up including, Montage Theatre Arts, Turnham Primary School Dancers, Beecroft School Choir, Mazaika, The Wiz-Rd, Hugh’s Harmonica Workshop, Felix’s Rock Choir, Heart Of Steel, Phoenix Raven, The Helliers   and our headliners, the wonderful local favourites, The Hit Men.

 

Help Save Hilly Fields

Children of Lewisham!  Your borough needs you. The year is 1883. The scrub and meadow land known as Hilly Fields is under threat. Join us in the Hilly Fields Stone Circle at 3pm where Octavia Hill (founder of the National Trust, nemesis of the suffragettes and wearer of humongous knickers) will save our park. Thanks to Montage Theatre’s Super Troopers

What happens when you let the country’s top satirical cartoonist loose, with a paintbrush, in SE4? Find out at Art In The Park on 4th June. The Guardian’s Martin Rowson will use Hilly Fields as a giant canvas to offer a humorous take on Brockley. Expect babies, dogs and poo bags…

 

Brockley’s Rock Fishing and Magic Show.

Our sponsor Brockley’s Rock fishing pond was one of last year’s most popular events and its back with more fish to catch, and this year El Mago Javier, the magician, will be popping by to astound children and adults alike.

 

Festival Tree

The Festival Tree by Pistachios Café will be festooned with drawings, messages, dreams and wishes created on the day by children and adults. All materials provided.
