The founding father of the Rockingbirds in the early 90’s Alan Tyler has been championing English country rock and UK Americana long before it became popular and a musical movement on these shores. The Rockingbirds are back on the road this year but Alan has been busy lately as a solo artist releasing albums with The Sons of Littlefield and The Alan Tyler Show. Dwelling on a houseboat near Deptford Creek Alan has written songs about city life and the rivers of London for his recent album. He also managed to bring Blake’s Songs Of Innocence to life by composing music for the entire set of poems. I’m thrilled that Alan will be headlining this Brockley Max event. As Tim Perry said ‘Tyler is one of the best songwriters of his genre and era’ and who can possibly argue with that.
