Art in the Park

The Brockley Max team are busy writing funding applications for next year’s festival and it is important for us to show the funders evidence of support for the Opening Night and Art In The Park.

Your support for these two events is crucial, and you can show this by writing a comment below. Whether it is just that you would like to see them happen again next year, or why you have enjoyed the events in the past. Perhaps you can see what it brings to our community, or what is so special about the Opening Night and/or Art In The Park.

Your comments will be used anonymously, or if you prefer, you can email moira@brockleymax.co.uk.

Thank you so much!

Very excited for the return of Brockley Max in 2022! The opening night is always a roaring tribute to the vibrant, eclectic and passionate local-music scene. Bring it on!

Art in the park is a much loved, family friendly event that brings the community together, through music, dance and art. It would be lovely if this event remains a fixture on the South east London calendar for many more years to come.

The Brockley Max Festival is not only a wonderful way for the local community to get together but also for people from outside the area to visit and find out what Brockley is all about.

Lewisham is the borough of culture and arts generally but in 2022 we need to up our game so taking what we have and making much of our great community. Brockleymax festival grows each year so as we come out of covid restrictions together what could be better than music poetry and arts to get us all talking and mixing again.

I love Brockley Max. It is an extraordinary community asset. My husband and I run a local history project and every year during Brockley Max, we schedule history walks, talks and an exhibition. We get a huge response from local people through Brockley Max, significantly increasing our reach and bringing in hundreds of local people who remain as supporters and contributors to the project afterwards. We could never achieve that profile on our ownThe project has no income and we could not afford to promote it in any other way. Brockley Max is so visible in the community and is so effective at promoting an extraordinary range of events, it is the only one of its kind, as far as I know.

I had a wonderful time at Art in the Park, engaging with children to bring out their creativity. When we as a community create opportunities children (and adults) surprise us and join together. These are times which must not be forsaken and lost. Events such as these should not be lost

Brockley Max is a much welcome event, a way of bringing people and the communities together; hosting a vast amount of experienced, professional and talented people.

The Art in the Park event is well organised and involves people of all age groups, with everyone engaging and doing their bit on the day. It was great to see the children from the local schools taking part.

I have not yet attended one, but I have heard very positive comments about the Opening Night.

As for me, I have volunteered my time at a couple of the weekly events and also on the big day of Art in the Park. It was a great experience and day out for everyone and I cannot wait for the 2022 event.

Please let us support this in every way we can to keep it going. The best thing in Brockley and surrounding communities!

Very well done to the organisers!

The Brockley Max opening night is a brilliant free event, showcasing all sorts of local musical talent and creating a relaxed, fun space to hang out. I attended it online in 2021, which was a sterling effort, but it so needs to be live 🙂 When our kids were small Art in the Park was another highlight of the year. Making these established and massively loved events part of the Borough of Culture celebrations could not be more fitting.
