Last chance to get Martin Rowson fundraising night tickets

Tickets for our fundraising night at The Chandos on Tuesday 4th February are nearly all gone – so grab yours while you can!

The event, The State We’re In, combines topical satire and poetry and is a double header with The Guardian cartoonist Martin Rowson and renowned poet Luke Wright.

Martin says: ‘We’ve been cursed – by those malevolent, mediocre and cack-handed gods who clearly govern our destinies – to live in interesting times. Horribly interesting times.’ It’s the job of political commentators and satirists like him to tear asunder the rhetoric and empty promises of those in power and expose ‘ruffians at large’.

Luke, meanwhile, is a witty and no-holds-barred documentary poet of 21st British life.

Together they promise a temporary escape from it all – and all in the cause of raising money towards this year’s Brockley Max festival. Tickets are £10 plus booking fee from Eventbrite.

Look out for details of more Brockley Max fundraising events happening later in February and March.

With 80% of our funding cut, we’re relying more than ever on the generosity and support of our local community to help ensure this year’s festival can go ahead. See info here on more ways to us. Thank you!
